History

O’Rourke Contracting Plc commenced the tender process for this contract in 2006 and had an early involvement in cost planning and architect liaison, attending all design meetings up to and including the construction phase.

About the Works

The principle purpose of these works was pedestrianise Park Street in Camberley whilst maintaining traffic flow throughout the construction phase and minimising disruption to business properties in the locality. The works involved:

• Carriageway and footway reconstruction throughout Park Street
• Deep highway drainage connections
• Surface water drainage
• Bituminous surfacing
• Block and slabbed paving
• SUDS drainage systems
• Street Furniture
• Anti-skid surfacing
• Remotely controlled electronic access barrier
• Anti-skid surfacing
• Carriageway line markings
• Internal paved surfaces with shopping mall
